Spaghetti and Meatballs

So, for the first recipe I've chosen the easiest possible dish to create...Spaghetti and Meatballs. The reason I say it's the easiest is b/c I'm sitting here cooking it and creating this blog, something I've not had time for in quite a while. I'm trying meatballs for the first time (UHH OHHH) so I will let you know how it turns out...I'd wait to hear the results before you try it yourself. :)

Ingredients:
1 lb Lean ground beef
1 lb lean ground pork
1 large yellow onion
4 tablespoons minced garlic
Tony's Cacheries seasoning
Garlic Powder
bread crumbs
1 Egg
2 Jars of spaghetti sauce (whatever you prefer Ragu, Classico, Bertolli's)

Meatballs: Turn the oven to High Broil
combine the ground pork and beef in a bowl. Once combined season with tony's and garlic powder. Dice the onion and add half of it to the meat mixture. In a separate bowl remove half of the meat mixture and add 1 egg and 1 cup of bread crumbs. (I'm using crushed up crackers tonight). Once mixed well create the meatballs by pinching off a small portion and rolling the meat into a ball in your hand. Put the meatballs on a baking dish covered in foil (easy clean up) and place them in the oven on the highest rack for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Flip the meatballs over about half way through.

In the mean time heat up olive oil on the stove in a pot and add the other half of the onion and 4 tablespoons of garlic. Once the onion browns then add the rest of the meat mixture. Stir until cooked throughly. Add 1 or 2 jars of spaghetti sauce (depending on your taste). Reduce the heat to Med-low heat. Remove the meatballs from the oven and place them gently in the spaghetti sauce.
Start boiling water for your pasta.
Cook meatballs and spaghetti sauce together for 20 minutes then serve.
